“Seven Suspects Arraigned for Alleged Murder of Final-Year Student at Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa”

seven suspect were arraigned before a kwara state high court for the alleged murder of Awesu Mojisola, a final year student of kwara state collage of health technology in Offa.

In connection with the alleged murder of Mojisola Awesu, a final-year female student at the College of Health Technology, Offa, in the state’s Offa Local Government Area, seven suspects appeared before a Kwara State High Court on Monday.

Because the defense attorneys for the two main accused were not present, the trial judge, Justice Ibrahim Yusuf, postponed the case until February 24, 2025, and remanded the suspects in prison custody.

Timilehin Kolawole and Happiness Adebayo, the two primary suspects, are charged with planning to kill Mojisola Awesu on August 9, 2024.

Happiness Adebayo’s parents, Adebayo Adeniyi and Bukola Adeniyi, as well as Adeoye Adeola, Lawal Aminat, and Peter Bulus, who work at the hotel where Mojisola was reportedly killed, are among the five more suspects.

The accused are charged with six counts: conspiracy, murder, evidence destruction and disappearance, and disposing of the deceased student’s body at a landfill.

The prosecution claims that the offenses violate and are punished under the Prohibition of Dealing in Human Parts Law of 2018, the Laws of Kwara State, and Sections 97, 221, and 167 of the Penal Code CAP P4.

The state Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Ayoola Akande, along with five other attorneys, announced his appearance when the case was called in court on Monday. Barristers F.A. Ahmed and A.I. Orisankoko appeared on behalf of the parents and hotel staff, but the court was unable to hear the accused’s pleas because the two principal accused were not present. As a result, the trial judge decided that the principal accused, Happiness Adebayo and Timileyin Kolawole, be placed under remand in a correctional facility, and the case was postponed until February 24 for the proper arraignment of the accused.

According to the DAILY POST, the deceased was allegedly enticed to Ilorin, the state capital, by Timileyin Kolawole and Happiness Adebayo. She was then allegedly murdered, and her body was found near a landfill in the Warah neighborhood of Ilorin.

According to the 2006 Kwara State Penal Code Law, Happiness Adebayo and his parents, Adebayo Adeniyi and Bukola Adeniyi, are charged with plotting to destroy and disappear evidence.

Peter Bulus, Adeoye Adeola, and Lawal Aminat are charged with planning to dispose of Mojisola Awesu’s body at a landfill on Warah Road in Ilorin.
